MCpl Marc Dumaine: "Who are the SkyHawks?" So, the SkyHawks are the Canadian Armed Forces parachute team that performs across Canada.
MCpl Marc Dumaine: Hi, I'm Master Corporal Marc Dumaine. I'm an Air Drop Systems Technician, also known as a parachute rigger on the Canadian Armed Forces parachute team: The SkyHawks. I'm here for the 60 Second challenge.
Alright, so first question. "What are the duties as an ADS Tech?" So essentially, I pack and maintain parachute systems. So really the mechanics of the parachuting world.
"What sort of training is involved in becoming an ADS tech?" So, you need to a current parachutist, and then you need to do your packing and maintenance course, and then go from there.
Ok. "Where can an ADS tech be posted?" So luckily, we get to work with some of the most highly trained persons in Canada such as the Search and Rescue, the Canadian Special Forces. We also have the Light Infantry Battalions that have parachuting capabilities. And we also have the SkyHawks and some positions here at the School at the Canadian Army Advanced Warfare Centre.
Alright, next question! "What is the coolest experience you've had as an ADS Tech?" Obviously, being on the SkyHawks is my number one coolest experience that I've had so far. Being able to travel and interact with the Canadian public is definitely the highlight of my career.
