Capt Gorham: Alright, I’m Captain Edward Gorham with the 48th Highlanders of Canada, I’m the Rifle Company OC. And I’m here to take the 60 Seconds Challenge. So, let’s get into it.
What is your proudest moment in uniform?
I would have to say when I got to go into the Air Assault course with the 101st Airborne.
Why did I join the CAF?
That’s an easy one. My dad was a Reservist in the Signal Corps, as well as my youngest brother. He also joined the Black Watch, so I also joined a Highland Regiment… 48th.
Who or what would you turn to when you need a laugh?
I would say my thirteen-year-old son.
What is the best part of being on Exercise?
For that one, I’d have to say seeing the camaraderie of troops, whether it’s a job well done, or there’s been a lot of lessons learned.
Where have you travelled with the CAF?
I’ve gone on domestic deployment to Nunavut, as well as gone to train with the Americans over in Georgia.
What is on your bucket list?
Just to travel the world and see all that there is to see.
What is the best advice you’ve been given?
Take care of your people, and they’ll take care of you.
Lastly, if you could choose another trade in the CAF, what would it be?
I’d have to say engineering because I love to blow stuff up. So, there you have it.
