CWO Bear: Good day, I’m Chief Warrant Officer Bear, the Squadron Chief Warrant Officer of 450 Tactical Helicopter Squadron in Garrison Petawawa.
What are the top three qualities that make a good leader?
Transparency, vulnerability, and patience.
What would you tell a young person who’s considering joining the CAF?
Get involved. It’s such an experience, and it’s not just at home, it’s international as well.
What is your favourite aircraft you have flown in?
I’m going to have to say the Chinook, and the F-18.
What does diversity mean to you?
Diversity is the amalgamation of cultures and ideals, working together to a common goal.
Where is your happy place?
At home with my family.
Why is it important to ensure diversity in the CAF?
Good ideas stem from better ideas from different cultures and ideals, working together towards a common goal. It just enhances everything.
What is your favourite place that you’ve travelled with the CAF?
I have no one singular place, but it’s always been within Canada. To see the country in so many different regions has been absolutely incredible.
