LCol Boddy: I’m Lieutenant Colonel James Boddy, the Commander of Joint Task Force Ukraine. Today, I’m here to take the 60 Seconds challenge, so let’s dive right in.
“What is Joint Task Force Ukraine’s mission?”
Our job is to provide the Ukrainian soldiers the qualitative edge they need to defeat the Russian Federation Armed Forces.
“How would you describe your time as Commander of Joint Task Ukraine so far?”
I have honestly loved every day I’ve been on this mission. It’s been one of the most fulfilling times during my 22 years of service.
“What prepared you for this mission?”
The biggest thing that prepared me for this mission was the time I spent in CJOC J3, managing operations in the Middle East.
“What makes a good leader?”
To me, good leaders listen, they have compassion, they put their subordinates ahead of themselves, and they set the conditions for their organization’s success.”
