Was that in the frame?

Ah, that’s OK. Sorry about that. Alright, take two.

Hi, my name is Captain Richard Dimen. I'm a C-17 Instructor Evaluator pilot currently deployed on Op Horizon, participating Talisman Sabre 2025, and today we're doing the 60 second challenge.

What do you like the most about Talisman Sabre?

I think being able to be in an environment that's different. We're in the southern hemisphere where we're in a location that we don't fly very often.

What's the most Australian thing you've seen?

Definitely the Kangaroos hopping around on the street. You got to be aware of them day and night.

What's their role during deployment Operation Horizon?

So I'm currently the C-17 deputy detachment commander, so I help oversee the planning and execution of the C-17 operations here at RAAF Base Amberley.

What Australian food or meat do you recommend we try?

Definitely Vegemite.

Alright. What kind of unique experience have you gained from participating in TALISMAN SABRE?

So learning about the command structure that we participate in. To be able to see the partner nations along with the host nation, Australia Defence Force, to see how they operate, to be able to translate their requests and missions, to be able to execute moving people and cargo all around.

What's your partner nations favorite uniform?

You got to love the Australian Defence uniform with the nice blue, nice Air Force blue to reflect what we do in the sky.

And that's the 60 second challenge.
