Transcript
My name is Hayden McKee-Godry. I'm a Captain and intelligence officer. I'm in Yellowknife, JTFN HQ and I'm going to be taking the 60 seconds challenge.
What is your favorite aspect about living in Canada's North?
My favorite aspect of living in Canada's north is the absolute freedom that we have up here. The incredible amount of unique opportunities that we have, from snowmobiling to work to playing hockey. So that's one of them.
How often do you practice and play hockey in Yellowknife?
Currently I play/practice hockey twice a week, but there's different opportunities for WIMPs or for Old Timers. WIMPs is weekly improvement for mediocre players. So that's an incredible opportunity that we have, and it's all for free.
What is your trade in the CAF?
My trade is to work as an intelligence officer. I joined the CAF many years ago and I've really enjoyed working within the CAF as an intelligence officer. I find the trade really rewarding. The work can be demanding, but it's certainly something that I very much enjoy.
Is there a competition or tournament at the end of the season?
Certainly, that's the Polar Cup that we have, which is the officers versus the NCM's.
How many hockey teams are there in Yellowknife?
I believe there's 12 within the Old Timers league. The WIMPs doesn't matter how many teams there are, it's just whoever shows up for that specific day, for that tournament, and that's who plays.
That's it.
