Hi, I'm Corporal Jacques. I'm an Avionic systems technician at 429 Squadron. I'm here on Op Horizon, participating in Talisman Saber, and this is the 60 Seconds challenge.
What do you like most about Talisman Saber? Opportunity to travel to Australia is super cool.
What do you like most about the joint exercise? Um, learning other bases and the way that they run, the way that they operate their maintenance section — is very interesting.
As an aircraft technician, what allied airframe would you want to work on most? Probably the A400, currently parked right next to us. It's a very interesting aircraft to me, and it looks a lot like a C-17.
What's the most Australian thing you've seen? Definitely kangaroos jumping alongside cows on the way into base every day.
What's your role during your deployment on Op Horizon? I'm an avionics technician, and I'm on the ground making sure that the aircraft gets on mission successfully throughout the whole operation.
