Hello. I'm Able Seaman Francis Van Der Kamp. I'm a Weapons Engineering Technician currently sailing on HMCS Ville de Québec in support of Canada's COVID-19 response and I'm here to take the 60 Seconds Challenge. Let's get right into it.
1. What is your favourite Navy movie?
Down Periscope.
2. What is your favourite meal onboard ship?
It would be cookie.
3. What is the best part of your job?
Definitely being able to go everywhere on the ship without anybody asking.
4. What is your favourite Navy saying?
That would be: "A smooth sea never made an experienced sailor."
5. How did you maintain your mental health while sequestered for 14 days?
Definitely FaceTiming with my wife, playing Zelda: Breath of the Wild and playing lots of guitar.
6. Who's the most influential person in your life?
My 5th grade teacher. She taught me positivism.
