Transcript

Hi. I am Lieutenant(Navy) Denise Dickson and I am the Marine System Engineering Officer on board HMCS St. John's and today I'm participating in the 60 Second challenge.

"When is the virtual Run the Rock taking place?"

Right now. It's September the 10th and it already started two days ago. Check it out online.

"What does diversity mean to you?"

Interest. Fun.

"What is the best thing about your job?"

It's the people.

"When you were a little girl, did you always dream about being an engineer?"

No. I dreamt about being G.I. Jane.

"What do you think about the annual Run the Rock event and what does that mean to you?"

It gives children an opportunity to be able to be granted wishes in the hardest times that they're experiencing in their lives, so it's awesome.

"Tell us a fun interesting fact about you."

I play the bass and I sing.

"Why did you join the Royal Canadian Navy?"

They came to a recruiting centre right at the end of my school career and I joined.

"Name one of your hobbies."

Singing.

Well. That seems like that's the end of the 60 Seconds questions. Thank you for letting me participate.
