As we celebrate National Public Service Week, I want to take the opportunity to recognize and highlight the significant contributions and achievements of the civilian members of the Defence Team.
Every day, our staff at National Defence play a unique role working alongside our women and men in uniform overseas, in offices, and on bases and wings across Canada.
As we’ve been working through the exceptional challenges of the COVID-19 outbreak, we have seen public servants shine through in their work for Canadians.
They have demonstrated their resilience and agility, adjusting rapidly in uncertain circumstances despite all the personal and professional challenges brought on by the pandemic.
The Public Servants on the Defence Team are a perfect example of dedication to their fellow Canadians… you all truly reflect the theme of the 2020 National Public Service Week - “Proudly Serving Canadians.”
This year's celebrations will be different, but I encourage you to stay connected and virtually engaged with your teams, and continue to foster the team spirit and collaboration that defines the Defence Team.

And I encourage you all to reach out to other public servants you know, and take some time to highlight their achievements. You can be proud of yourselves.
And I certainly can say that as the Minister of National Defence, I am proud to be working alongside such a professional, dedicated, and dependable team.
