Come on, come in. Hi, it’s nice to meet you. Come on in.
This was my daughter when she was about five months old, and I left with General Vance and he was a Commander. My second deployment to Afghanistan… and she was also mine, and by the time I came back…and this is when we came back from…so there we go.
And now they are this big ok, so there you go.
You go through a lot and you get…you know, your parents are away, they do so many things, but they are about the closest you can get to being superheroes, ok. The reason they’re so successful and they’re so compassionate and they use their powers for good is because of all of you. Because I know that being on deployments that that’s what they talk about.
So, but this day is about thanking all of you and recognizing all your great works.
1st Girl: I miss that my dad used to come to Avalon on Wednesday, and come to my class and tell about what he does to serve our country.
2nd Girl: We just came back from Pe Ell, Washington, and it was really fun, we made a lot of friends.
Boy: You really grow close to your parents and when they’re gone it’s like you’re missing one of your best friends, right. They’re always there for you, they always have your back, and they’re always saying the right things.
