May 4, 2020 - Defence Stories
The Defence Team is always here to lend a helping hand to our fellow Canadians. Right now, with the impact of COVID-19 on our communities, the need of a little help is even greater. Through the National Defence COVID-19 Emergency Charity Campaign, Defence Team members can make a direct contribution to support community charities most impacted by the pandemic.
This emergency campaign is an extension of our annual National Defence Workplace Charitable Campaign (NDWCC) being led this year by the Canadian Army.
This is an opportunity for our members to donate if possible to charities right in their own communities. The two organizations who will receive funds from this emergency campaign are the United Way Centraide Canada and HealthPartners, the umbrella under which more than a dozen national health charities do their valuable work.
The National Defence COVID-19 Emergency Charity Campaign website provides information on both of the charities as well as detailed steps on how to donate to the campaign. Funds raised through this campaign will be counted towards the NDWCC 2020 national totals.
We are proud to work with so many caring, generous individuals and pleased to offer a way for interested people to donate to those in their communities most affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. This is just another way Canadians will see how much the Defence Team cares.
Together we can make a difference.
Jody Thomas Jonathan Vance
Deputy Minister General
Chief of the Defence Staff
