Successful Start to the 2020 NDWCC
September 15, 2020 - Defence Stories
Dear Defence Team members,
A huge thank you to all who participated in and supported the National Defence Workplace Charitable Campaign (NDWCC) launch and Vice Chief of Defence Staff Canoe Race on September 9, 2020. Together we raised more than $25,000 for our community!
This success would not have been possible without all of the hard work and fundraising done by the participants. And a special congratulations to all of the winners of this year’s Canoe Race:
- First Place Canoe - Canoe Feel the Love Tonight – Sgt Trevor Argue & Cpl Michael Lett
- Best Decorated Team - Team MPO – Maj Pamela Harris & Capt Audrey Morand
- Most Funds Raised Team - Canada Surface Canoe – Simon Page & Chantal Aubry
- Best Foreign Attaché Team - OSAA – Col J Gomez (Mexico) & Capt(N) L Park (USA)
- Most Determined Team - The Flying Escargots – Colleen Grum & Diana Moujaes
Although our campaign will be almost entirely virtual due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this change underlines why now, more than ever, it is vital for us to support our fellow Canadians. The campaign slogan, “Apart but together at heart” acknowledges our new reality and reminds us that we are all in this together.
The NDWCC is a donor’s choice campaign. You choose your charity, your donation amount and your form of payment.
Every donation makes a difference, so please give generously. And, this year, it is even easier to give.
Funds can be donated online through ePledge or through the team fundraising app, FlipGive, where you direct a portion of your purchases from any of 300 retailers to NDWCC charities.
This year’s campaign focus is wellness. As we cope with and adjust to changes brought about by COVID-19, it is important that we all try to maintain our physical and mental wellbeing. Your support will make a real difference for Canadians in need – including Defence Team members and their families.
Let’s give hope and opportunity to our fellow Canadians – donate today.
