To all Federal Public Service colleagues:

We did it!

Public Service Pride Week, the culmination of Pride season, came to a close on Friday. And what a week it’s been with a record-breaking 5000+ participants across all events!

I’d like to thank all the participating departments and agencies for making this truly a public service wide success.

Over the last several days—indeed, over the last several months—we’ve been learning from each other, supporting each other and celebrating diversity in the public service. We can all be very proud of how we marked Public Pride Service Week 2021.

In looking back, I’m thinking a lot about journeys, challenges and courage—three big themes that really resonated with me and, I know, with many of you. Reflecting on these themes through the lens of all the amazing people in the public service clearly shows why we can’t simply put down our tools and say, “Job done.”

In short, we can’t stop. And we won’t. But we need your ongoing support to keep blazing ahead.

We’re stronger together. And we’re fostering a more diverse and inclusive public service for everyone.

So please think about sharing articles and speeches of note, telling us about conferences that energized you, and sharing stories about colleagues who embody what Pride’s all about.

Visit the Public Service Pride web site to learn more. We’d love to hear from you.
