A message from ADM(IM) on cyber threats
January 25, 2022 - Defence Stories
Defence Team,
You may have seen recent media reports of the Canadian Centre for Cyber Security at the Communication Security Establishment (CSE) cautioning vigilance against cyber threats. While our collective teams continue to watch for suspicious activity on our networks and systems, we ask all members of the Defence Team to be particularly vigilant and watchful for any suspicious online activity. Be aware of the authenticity of the webpages you visit and the source of emails you receive, and never click on a link you do not fully trust.
If you encounter a suspicious situation, please report it to your unit Information System Security Officer (ISSO) or your service desk. For after-hours, you may contact the Defence Service Operations Centre (DEFSOC) at (613) 945-7777 / CSN: 945-7777 or via e-mail at IMG.DEFSOC.NSMC-CNGS.COSDEF@forces.gc.ca.
Len Bastien
Assistant Deputy Minister (Information Management) and Defence Chief Information Officer
