Call for nominations: Government of Canada 2022 Public Service Pride Awards
March 10, 2022 - Defence Stories

We are pleased to launch the Call for Nominations for the Government of Canada 2022 Public Service Pride Awards. This second edition builds on last year’s huge success and keeps up our momentum in promoting and strengthening LGBTQ2+ diversity, inclusion and pride across the federal public service.
All public servants are invited to recognize the achievements, efforts and initiatives of our colleagues who are fostering a more inclusive and diverse public service. Nominate them in one of these four award categories:
- The Agent of Change Award recognizes advocates and leaders who are initiating and driving action to remove systemic barriers and advance the inclusion and integration of LGBTQ2+ communities in the federal public service.
- The Pride Network of the Year Award recognizes a departmental or agency pride network that stood out over the course of the year through its work in bringing together LGBTQ2+ employees and allies to advance sexual orientation and gender identity equality across their department or agency.
- The Workplace Pride Initiative of the Year Award recognizes an individual’s or team’s novel workplace policy, plan, event or activity that has demonstrated benefit for LGBTQ2+ inclusion in the workplace.
- The Career Impact Award recognizes individuals who have made a lasting and substantial impact during their career through long-standing and active support of LGBTQ2+ communities within the federal public service.
The nomination guide and form, which include nomination instructions, are available on the Public Service Pride Award 2022 page on GCconnex.
The deadline to submit nominations by email to the Public Service Pride Secretariat for this year’s awards is April 7, 2022, 5:00 p.m. (ET).
A virtual awards ceremony honouring the winners will be broadcast during Public Service Pride Week, on Thursday, August 25, 2022.
A video (you are now leaving the Government of Canada website) of the 2021 awards presentation is available on YouTube.
