International Day of La Francophonie!

Dear Defence Team members,

International Day of La Francophonie promotes the French language across Canada and is celebrated annually on March 20^th. It is a wonderful opportunity for public service employees and military members to highlight the beauty of the Canadian Francophonie in all its richness and diversity as well as celebrate the French language and culture.

The French language has always held an important place within the Defence team. Our participation in La Francophonie enables us to promote our values and advance our foreign policy and development priorities in the Francophone world. By celebrating the Francophonie, we celebrate the cultural and linguistic diversity that makes up the very fabric of our country. Celebrating the Francophonie means recognizing the potential of language and culture to unite peoples, to create spaces of solidarity and mutual understanding, to reflect together on our common future.
