Celebrating Excellence in the Defence Team: A message from the Deputy Minister and Chief of the Defence Staff

Congratulations to the 119 outstanding recipients of this year’s Celebrating Excellence Awards (CEA). These awards represent one of the highest expressions of recognition within our Defence Team. They highlight the achievements of these exemplary individuals and teams who have provided excellent service to us all over the last year.

The highly integrated nature of our Defence Team—in which military members and public service employees serve side-by-side—is unique within the wider Government of Canada. We are continuously impressed by what we can achieve together as a committed, professional and hard-working team.

These past few years have been challenging, and though we have been faced with adversity, we continue to make great strides to better ourselves, accomplish our goals, and deliver on our mandate. It is now more important than ever to recognize and celebrate our colleagues who have overcome obstacles and achieved excellence throughout this past year and beyond. These efforts help us create a more efficient, diverse, and inclusive Defence Team.
