Transforming government work around the world—participate in Open Government Week!

May 13, 2022 - Defence Stories

From May 16-20, 2022, join Canada, the Open Government Partnership (OGP) and countries around the world as they celebrate the fourth edition of Open Government Week.

Open Government is about making government more accessible to everyone. The OGP brings together government leaders, civil society advocates and citizens in a unique way—one that promotes transparent, participatory, inclusive and accountable governance.

By giving the Canadian public more access to government data, it will enhance citizen participation in policymaking, service design, while creating a more responsive and efficient government.

Open Government Week is an annual opportunity to bring communities together to share ideas, discuss solutions, and honour the innovators transforming government work around the world.

This year, the Treasury Board Secretariat Open Government team is hosting events with a different theme for each day of the week. Get engaged by attending an event; all are welcome! You can check out their events calendar to register.

Did you know the Department of National Defence (DND) has an Open Government Team?

You can check out their intranet site (accessible on DWAN) to find out more about Open Government initiatives here at DND. You are also invited to share your data with the team and take part in the OG initiative! To get into touch with the team, reach out to their positional mailbox featured on their intranet site.
