Good day,
Today is the official launch of the 2022-23 Public Service Employee Survey (PSES), which will be administered from November 21, 2022 to February 5, 2023.
As PSES Champion, I strongly encourage civilian members of the Defence Team to take part in the survey to voice your opinions on matters that directly affect you. Hearing your lived experiences is how senior leadership can continue moving forward on top priorities, such as equity and inclusion, workplace well-being, and the hybrid workplace. The PSES is about you, public service employees, and about what matters to you.
Each completed survey tells an important part of a larger story. When paired with new data analytics tools, your responses deliver powerful insights which helps leadership ensure that ongoing workplace improvement is founded on careful study and evidence-based information gathering. A mere 25 minutes of your time can contribute to years of continuous improvement initiatives.
Greater insight requires greater participation. In 2020, only 52.5 percent of our eligible workforce participated in the PSES. This year, I would like our data to be more representative of all our civilian workforce employed by the Department of National Defence. Completing this survey is a crucial part of the role each of us play in creating and sustaining a healthy, flexible and adaptive workplace.
After the overall departmental results are returned in spring 2023, the Defence management team will work collaboratively to address key findings. These findings may identify areas that need improvement, but they will also reveal areas of success that can be built upon. It is up to you to provide the information needed to help shape the way forward and advance the quality of the Defence Team workplace.
Over the next week, all civilian members of the Defense Team working prior to October 17, 2022 will receive an email from Statistics Canada with an invitation to complete the 2022-23 PSES. The link you receive is specifically meant for you. You can forward the survey to a personal or D365 email to complete off the DWAN; however, please do not forward or share your link with anyone else.
Your opinion matters. Your participation counts. Every survey respondent makes the data collected more representative and robust. Thank you for completing the Public Service Employee Survey.
