Did you know? Public Service Health Care Plan administrators are changing

In December 2021, the Government of Canada awarded Canada Life Assurance Company (Canada Life) (you are now leaving the Government of Canada website) an Administrative Services Only contract for the administration of the Public Service Health Care Plan (PSHCP) (you are now leaving the Government of Canada website). As of July 1, 2023 Canada Life will take over from Sun Life as the new Public Service Health Care Plan Administrator. This change will have no impact on members’ benefits.  In the meantime, members should continue to submit their claims to SunLife (you are now leaving the Government of Canada website) until June 30, 2023 as well as ensure that their personal contact information on the website is up-to-date.

Prior to Canada Life officially becoming the PSHCP administrator, each member will receive an invitation (via their contact information currently with Sun Life) to complete their positive enrolment beginning in March, in accordance with their date of birth (Table 1). Once Canada Life becomes the PSHCP administrator, each member will be issued a new plan number, also based on their month of birth.

This new plan number is required to submit claims for all your eligible dependants and must be provided to your pharmacies and registered health providers in order to submit claims to Canada Life electronically.

Members who have not received their positive enrolment invitation by April 24, 2023 are advised to complete their enrolment online by visiting the Canada Life PSHCP member services website (you are now leaving the Government of Canada website) or by contacting the Canada Life call centre at: 1-855-415-4414.
