Disability Management services now will be available to all Public Service employees in the National Capital Region

As part of its national expansion, starting September 1, 2023, all Department of National Defence Public Service employees working in the National Capital region, will have access to the Office of Disability Management (ODM) (accessible only on the National Defence network) services to address any disability-related matters due to illness, impairment, and injury.

The ODM is an impartial, collaborative, and inclusive group that guides employees and their supervisors/managers from the onset of leave to a successful return to the workplace while assisting in mitigating obstacles at an early stage through pro-active services.

Disability Management Advisors (DMAs) offers services to facilitate a supportive, safe and healthy work environment, enabling Public Service employees to stay or return to work as early as medically feasible.

DMAs can offer support during:

• work-related accident injury, illness or impairment;
• non-work-related injury, illness or impairment;
• recovery;
• stay at work;
• return to work;
• accommodation; and
• medical retirement.

How to reach the ODM
