Get to Know the Sexual Misconduct Support and Resource Centre (SMSRC)

The Sexual Misconduct Support and Resource Centre (SMSRC) offers support services for currently serving and former Canadian Armed Forces members, National Defence public service employees, Cadets and Junior Canadian Rangers affected by sexual misconduct and their families, aged 16 and older. It also provides guidance and support for leaders and management on addressing sexual misconduct. To raise awareness of its programs and services, the SMSRC is hosting monthly virtual information sessions for the Defence Team.
In the upcoming months, six sessions (3 in English and 3 in French) will be offered:
September 2023
- Thursday, September 28, 2023, from 9:00 to 11:00 EST in French
- Thursday, September 28, 2023, from 13:00 to 15:00 EST in English
October 2023
- Thursday, October 26, 2023, from 9:00 to 11:00 EST in French
- Thursday, October 26, 2023, from 13:00 to 15:00 EST in English
November 2023
- Thursday, November 23, 2023, from 9:00 to 11:00 EST in French
- Thursday, November 23, 2023, from 13:00 to 15:00 EST in English
The sessions are for anyone looking to find out more about the SMSRC support services available to individuals affected by sexual misconduct. Those interested are welcome to register online for a virtual information session on MS Teams using an @forces.gc.ca email account to complete the process.
In addition to those sessions, this fall, the SMSRC will deliver a series of virtual and in-person presentations to Defence team members in the National Capital Regions and on various Bases and Wings across the country as part of an effort to better raise awareness about its programs and services.
