Virtual Shout-Outs – Bulletin #31
September 29, 2023 - Defence Stories

School is back, and so is this round of September shout-outs!
"Brains, like hearts, go where they are appreciated."
- Robert McNamara
Do you know of a co-worker who deserves a special shout-out or are you looking for a way to recognize someone who has made an impact, big or small? Virtual Shout-Outs are a quick and easy way for you to publicly recognize a colleague, or team of colleagues, for a job well done.
Here’s how to submit a Virtual Shout-out:
- Email your shout-outs to the Corporate Awards and Recognition Secretariat and
- Provide the email(s) of the person(s) being recognized.
- Shout-outs are collected on an ongoing basis.
Note that shout-out recipients will be given the option to “opt out” of having their message displayed on the Bulletin Board (accessible only on the National Defence network) on the Maple Leaf and the Defence Team intranet, and submissions can remain anonymous.
Don’t delay! Virtually shout-out your hard-working colleagues today!
I’d like to send a virtual shout-out to everyone at the HMCS CARLETON Ship’s Office who worked for our most recent arrival assistance.
We had an AAG here at HMCS CARLETON on 7. It was the first time since the pandemic that we had such a high level of administrative activity again. Our unit has many Class A reservists and very few Class Bs. This means we have to work with a large number of part-time reservists, and maintaining an optimal administration is often complex.
For these two days, we had help from a number of different sections: Administration, Logistics, Chaplaincy, Operations and Training, among others.
All sections worked together, and a unit of about 260 members is now administratively ready and operational as a result.
My sincere congratulations go out to the entire team.
– Warrant Officer, Marc-André Champagne
The EEDI team at ADM(HR-Civ) sends a shout-out to Maha Abdawi! After the unexpected departure of our manager, acting as team leader, Maha has organized Friday meetings to bring our team together, discuss ongoing projects and decompress with a quick quiz game. She is always ready to support her colleagues. With her knowledge, professionalism and kindness, Maha is a great asset to the team. Thank you for everything you do, Maha!
