Now is the time to start the student hiring process (accessible only on the National Defence network) by reaching out to the National Student Hiring Team (NSHT) , who can help with finding the right student for your team. The NSHT will work with you to find students from one of the Public Service Commission approved student hiring programs:
- Federal Student Work Experience Program (FSWEP) (accessible only on the National Defence network)
- Post-Secondary Co-operative Program (Co-op)/Internship Program (accessible only on the National Defence network)
- Research Affiliate Program (RAP) (accessible only on the National Defence network)
Why should I hire a student?
- Students bring new energy, fresh ideas and perspectives into the workplace
- Students provide access to a diverse talent pool, and employment equity groups to represent the population we serve
- Students are available to work part-time or full-time hours and are ready for hire at any time of the year
- Students can be bridged into indeterminate and determinate positions within 5 years of graduating
- Students can help develop leadership within your team by giving your employees supervisory experience
