February 15, 2024 – Defence Stories

2023 tax slips will be available in Phoenix Self Service and MyGCPay on February 23, 2024.
By March 1, 2024, employees registered with Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) or Revenu Québec will be able to access their 2023 tax information via their MyAccount.
Employees on leave without pay or without access to a GC network
- Former employees and employees on leave without pay will receive a printed tax slip in the mail by February 29, 2024.
- Tax slips are mailed to the address recorded in the Phoenix pay system. Please ensure your home and mailing address are correct. If you do not receive your tax slip by March 4, 2024, contact Public Services and Procurement Canada (PSPC)’s Client Contact Centre.
- Employees on leave without pay who do not receive their tax slips by this time can use MyGCPay external access to view and print a copy. This application can be accessed only by employees on leave without pay or former employees (i.e. not by employees “active” in the HRMS) and it allows users to access their pay and benefits information outside the Government of Canada network.
Employees who were teleworking in 2023:
- *You can no longer claim home office expenses using the temporary flat method. This method, which was implemented by CRA for the 2020 to 2022 tax years does not apply for the 2023 tax year. Eligible employees must use the detailed method to claim home office expenses.
- The CRA has developed several scenarios to guide taxpayers and managers on applying the detailed method.
