Félix Bérubé
My name is Félix Bérubé, I’m 20 years old, I’m bilingual, and I’ve had a student job at the Department of National Defence (DND) since February 2024. I hold the position of management services officer in the Quebec management services offices at Valcartier.
I’m originally from the Lower St. Lawrence region, but now I live in Drummondville and am studying business administration (financial planning profile) at the Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières (UQTR). Before I decided on that field, I took mechanical engineering courses at CÉGEP. During my studies, I worked at Cascades, which enabled me to acquire my first significant job experience.
I really enjoy playing sports, especially dek hockey and baseball. I also take advantage of the facilities on the military base and the ones in my city for practising my sports.
To find my job, I applied on the GC Jobs site. My main role is to provide employees with the office equipment they need and assist my supervisor in various administrative tasks.
My experience at DND is very rewarding. I’ve found a work environment with a culture of camaraderie, which enabled me to integrate well from the beginning. I regularly have opportunities to participate in sports activities with the CAF members, which makes my job even more stimulating.
What I especially like at DND is the many career opportunities available to me. I also like the dek hockey games with my military colleagues. During the summer, my work takes place exclusively at the office, which means frequent trips between Drummondville and the Valcartier base, an experience that adds a more active aspect to my daily routine.
This summer, my objectives are to develop my network, meet new people and discover opportunities that will help me build my career at DND and beyond.
