Unveiling this year’s National Veterans Week Speakers Program video series
November 5, 2024 - Defence Stories

Veterans’ Week (Nov 5-11) serves as a solemn opportunity for Canadians to honor the bravery and sacrifice of the men and women who have served and continue to serve in the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF).
This year, the National Veterans’ Week Speakers Program (NVWSP) is proud to unveil its latest edition of videos that help capture the stories of those who helped shape our history.
From our video gallery and our YouTube Channel, you will be able to view two new NVWSP videos developed for various audiences and age levels, as well as three new “Why I Remember” videos that features CAF members sharing their personal stories of why Veterans’ Week and Remembrance Day are important to them.
Additionally, we’d like to share these videos to help you prepare for or enhance your Remembrance Day presentation.
- Two Minutes of Silence – featuring imagery to play during the two minutes of silence part of your Remembrance Day ceremony.
- “Plan a remembrance Day Ceremony" page developed by the Royal Canadian Legion that provides everything you need to organize a Remembrance Day Ceremony.
- Meet the Remembrance Club and watch the Veterans’ Affairs Canada video.
We hope these videos will help in your preparations for your Veterans’ Week and Remembrance Day activities.
If you would like to receive a copy of these videos or have questions, please contact the National Veterans’ Week Speakers Program coordinator at 1-833-223-8322 or DNDRemembrance.SouvenirMDN@forces.gc.ca.

Final thoughts
Veterans’ Week / Remembrance Day provides an opportunity for Canadians to come together, reflect on the past, thus ensuring the legacy of our veterans is never forgotten.
