Save the date for International Women’s Day 2025 events

March 8^th is International Women's Day (IWD), a day to recognize and celebrate the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women and girls. For the Defence Team, IWD is an opportunity to celebrate what we have accomplished and to reaffirm our commitment to address persistent gaps within our organization. This year’s theme is Accelerate Action.

Discussion Panel: #StrengthInEveryStory how all women’s voices contribute to a stronger and more inclusive economy for all.

Mark your calendars! The Defence co-Champions for Women, Sophie Martel and Lieutenant-General Lise Bourgon, are hosting a hybrid discussion panel, on Monday, March 10, 2025, in-person or livestreamed via MS Teams. The discussion will focus on the ongoing need to invest in the lives of those often left behind so they have a chance to contribute to Canada’s economic growth. Defence Team members can join from anywhere in Canada via Microsoft Teams.

Panelists include military and civilian members of various ranks and positions who are recognized as leaders in their communities and who make a difference to the Defence Team.

National Capital Region Women’s Trade Show

Booths will be set up at NDHQ (Carling), featuring women-focused organizations and businesses, as well as a variety of Defence Team organizations.
