Remembrance Day event for people affected by sexual misconduct

Estimated read time – 1:00

Remembrance Day is a meaningful commemorative time that can evoke various emotions such as pride, grief, loss, and sometimes isolation, especially for affected members. Remember that you are not alone.

If you are a member of the Defence community over the age of 18 that has been affected by sexual misconduct and military sexual trauma (MST), the Sexual Misconduct Support and Resource Centre, in partnership with Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC), invites you to join a virtual Remembrance Day event on November 6.

During this year’s event, participants will have the opportunity to connect with peers and support each other in a safe and respectful environment. The event facilitator will reflect on the significance of Remembrance Day and the emotional impact it may have on those with military backgrounds and MST experiences. The event will also include grounding activities to help attendees feel centred and calm.

If you would like to attend or get more information about the event, please reach out to SMSRCPSP-CSRISPSP@forces.gc.ca before October 24.
