Every year the Government of Canada marks Veterans’ Week from November 5 to 11. The week includes Indigenous Veterans Day on November 8 and Remembrance Day on November 11. As Canadians, we have a shared responsibility to remember and recognize the sacrifices of every person who has served or continues to serve our country in times of war, military conflict and peace.

This year, the Veterans’ Week theme is Canadian Armed Forces in the Americas. The efforts of Canada’s military at home and throughout the Americas have kept us safe and sovereign. They reflect our steadfast commitment to being a good neighbour and ally.

As public servants, we have a unique opportunity to act as ambassadors of remembrance. Let’s encourage our families, friends and communities to reflect on the service of those in uniform. Thanks to their dedication, we enjoy the peace and freedoms we have today.

To support your participation, Veterans Affairs Canada has created resources to help you show that #CanadaRemembers:

For those of you who have served in uniform—thank you for your service.
