Long description

An image of two screenshots of a bilingual (English and French) interactive game interface titled "Military Dilemmas," designed to simulate decision-making scenarios for military personnel. The interface features dark purple backgrounds with geometric patterns, buttons for joining the game, creating a game, practicing, and instructions on how to play. It also includes a reduce motion option, along with a scenario prompt example. “Your best Sergeant has been offered a great job outside the CAF. He says that your boss has offered him a posting to the embassy in London in a year if he stays in the CAF. You doubt the boss can actually deliver on the posting promise. Do you:”. The screen also has buttons that ask you to decide what do you do: “Share your doubts with the Sergeant” or “Let the Sergeant make his own decision”.

Thanks to valuable user feedback, the Military Dilemmas app was recently updated with two new game packs as well as new scenarios within the existing packs.

You talked, and we listened. The original CAF Ethos pack has been updated to include more non-commissioned member/non-commissioned officer (NCM/NCO) content and scenarios. Also newly added are two game packs aimed at Officer Cadets and Navy personnel: check out the Royal Military College (RMC) Saint-Jean and HMCS Venture packs.

If those aren’t what you’re looking for, check out our other game packs on Digital-Related Issues and RMC Kingston. If you still can’t find something for your team, feel free to reach out to the Directorate of Professional Development at the Canadian Defence Academy to start creating your own game pack: PCLD-CPDL@forces.gc.ca.

If you are looking to lead engaging discussions about the ethos or military values, look no further! The Military Dilemmas app is a great tool to make your (minimum) three yearly ethos discussions engaging and targeted.

While participants are awarded points for their responses, five for the most correct, three for the second best, and one for any other response, the true growth and understanding occurs in the discussion afterwards. Debrief their selections to learn more about your team and help them develop a deeper understanding of the CAF Ethos.

Download the app today to check out some of the real-life experiences of other CAF members and spark meaningful discussions from challenging dilemmas.

Available now on the Google Play and Apple App Store.
