CAF Pension Member Education Sessions: Now virtual

Your life and career are evolving. Do you know how those changes affect your pension? Whether you have just become a parent, received a promotion, or reached another major milestone, Pension Member Education Sessions (PMES) can help you understand and make informed decisions about your pension.
PMES are now delivered virtually through Teams. These national sessions give all CAF members access to the same current and accurate information about their pension, no matter where they are located.
Understand the impact of key life events
PMES provide CAF members with general information about how key life events and career milestones affect their pension benefits. The sessions are for members at all career stages, from new recruits to those at mid-career. PMES may be valuable for members who are:
- getting married, separated, or divorced;
- taking parental leave;
- taking a period of leave without pay;
- changing employment status, such as through a Component Transfer; or
- considering a service buyback.
Access to these sessions promotes proactive pension education, ultimately supporting long-term financial well-being for CAF members.
Career-long education
PMES provide comprehensive, virtual pension education to CAF members throughout a member’s career. They complement but are separate from My Transition Seminars, which focus on pension considerations for members nearing release or retirement.

PMES do not provide financial advice and are general pension education sessions. While participants will have opportunities to ask questions throughout the presentation, members requiring guidance on their personal pension situation are encouraged to contact the Government of Canada Pension Centre directly at pensioncentrecaf.centredespensionsfac@pwgsc-tpsgc.gc.ca.
