HMCS Windsor returns to Halifax from Exercise JOINT WARRIOR and TRIDENT JUNCTURE 2015

The media are invited to attend the homecoming ceremony of Her Majesty’s Canadian Submarine (HMCS) Windsor on December 17.

The submarine and crew are returning from their deployment where they participated in Exercises JOINT WARRIOR and TRIDENT JUNCTURE, multi-national exercises focusing on training in complex security scenarios.

HMCS Windsor, along with HMC Ships Athabaskan, Halifax, Montréal, Goose Bay, and Summerside departed Halifax in the early fall on exercises aimed to enhance the combat readiness of units, improve unit interoperability, and confirm operational mission preparedness. The participation of Canadian Armed Forces personnel and RCN assets in these exercises enhances Canada’s ability to operate with our NATO Allies and contribute to solutions for an evolving and challenging global security environment.

LCdr Peter Chu, Commanding Officer of HMCS Windsor will be available for questions.  

WHEN: December 17 at 1:30 p.m. AST

WHERE: Jetty NC, HMC Dockyard, Canadian Forces Base Halifax, NS 

Media are asked to arrive at Rainbow Gate by 1:00 p.m. with photo ID. Parking will be available in a designated area near the jetty.
