The Directorate of Flight Safety (DFS) is releasing the Flight Safety Investigation Report into the accident of a controlled ejection by pilots of a CT-156 Harvard II aircraft during a training flight at 15 Wing Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, on January, 24, 2014.

In this accident, which involved training a student pilot in flying Practiced Force Landings, the aircraft experienced a hard landing which damaged the landing gear and prevented the aircraft from landing. The decision was then made to eject from the aircraft and both pilots successfully ejected and suffered minor injuries. The aircraft was destroyed when it subsequently hit the ground.

The Report will be available on the Flight Safety website at: http://www.rcaf-arc.forces.gc.ca/en/flight-safety/article-template-flight-safety.page?doc=ct156102-harvard-ll-epilogue-flight-safety-investigation-report/hsocf82i
