Atikamekw of Manawan First Nation to Host EAGLE'S NEST Aboriginal Youth Leadership Camp

July 7, 2016 – Ottawa – National Defence / Canadian Armed Forces

The Canadian Army is hosting a five-day skills development and leadership camp for Aboriginal youth in Quebec. The camp, called EAGLE’S NEST 2016, will be held at the First Nations community of Atikamekw of Manawan, approximately 250 km north of Montreal, from July 10 to 16, 2016.

Thirty Aboriginal youth will participate in EAGLE’S NEST 2016. Camp activities will introduce participants to outdoor experiences and develop skills such as planning, problem solving, navigation, and teamwork. The camp also aims to prioritize a healthy lifestyle through physical fitness.
