October 7, 2016 – Ottawa – National Defence / Canadian Armed Forces

Participation in Exercise JOINT WARRIOR enhances the readiness of the Canadian Armed Forces to undertake missions at the direction of the Government of Canada.
Quotes
“HMCS Charlottetown’s participation in joint exercises improves our interoperability with NATO allies and other partners, and better prepares us to meet our collective defence and deterrence obligations.”
— Commander Andrew Hingston, Commanding Officer HMCS Charlottetown
“Exercises like JOINT WARRIOR, which include both air and sea power, are essential to the training of today’s Royal Canadian Air Force. The RCAF’s CP-140 Auroras are able to answer the call in many unique situations involving NATO and non-NATO forces alike. Specifically, the Aurora's ability to fly for long durations, its communications suite, and its sensors make it versatile and adaptable to many roles on coastal, undersea, and overland surveillance missions.”
— Colonel Pat Thauberger, 14 Wing Greenwood Commander
