4 Wing Cold Lake CF-188 Hornet Crash

News Release

November 28, 2016 – Cold Lake, Alberta – National Defence / Canadian Armed Forces

Shortly after 11 a.m. Mountain Standard Time, a single-seat CF-188 Hornet from 4 Wing Cold Lake crashed inside the Cold Lake Air Weapons Range in Saskatchewan, not far from the Primrose Lake Evaluation Range. Sadly, the pilot did not survive. The name of the pilot will not be released at this time, pending notification of next of kin.

At this time, our thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends of our fallen member. A flight safety investigation will be conducted to determine the cause of the incident
