March 24, 2017 – Halifax, N.S. – National Defence / Canadian Armed Forces

Media are invited to participate in a one-on-one telephone interview with Lieutenant-Commander Paul Smith, Task Force Commander for Neptune Trident 17-1.

Her Majesty’s Canadian Ships Moncton and Summerside — Kingston Class Coastal Defence Vessels — are currently deployed to West Africa to conduct strategic engagements on behalf of the Royal Canadian Navy and to support capacity building and foster relationships with partners throughout the region.

While deployed, HMCS Summerside and Moncton, and a detachment of personnel from the Maritime Tactical Operations Group (MTOG) also participated in Obangame Express 2017, an at-sea maritime training event led by U.S. Naval Forces Africa.

When: Tuesday, March 28, and Wednesday, March 29  

What: One-on-one telephone interview. Interview time block is between 8 – 10 a.m. EST.
