New Commander for Military Personnel Command

March 29, 2017 – Ottawa – National Defence / Canadian Armed Forces  

Media are invited to attend a ceremony at the Cartier Square Drill Hall as Lieutenant-General Charles Lamarre assumes Command of Military Personnel Command (MPC) from Lieutenant-General Chris Whitecross. General Jonathan Vance, Chief of the Defence Staff, will preside over the ceremony.

The Commander of MPC oversees approximately 14,000 military and civilian personnel who are responsible for the overall personnel management of the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF). 

What: MPC Change of Command Ceremony 

When: 10:30 a.m., Friday, March 31, 2017 

Where: Cartier Square Drill Hall, 2 Queen Elizabeth Dr., Ottawa Ontario, K2P 2H9

Media are required to arrive no later than 10 a.m. and must present media identification.

Limited parking is available on site for satellite trucks only, which must be parked by 10 a.m.

Lieutenant-General Whitecross and Lieutenant-General Lamarre will hold a media availability immediately following the ceremony.
