Symposium on the Development of Military Academies 2017

May 29, 2017 – Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Quebec – National Defence / Canadian Armed Forces

Members of the media are invited to the opening ceremony of the International Symposium on the Development of Military Academies to be held from May 30 to June 1, 2017, at Royal Military College Saint-Jean (RMC Saint-Jean).

Jean Rioux, Member of Parliament for the riding of Saint-Jean and Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of National Defence, will be the guest of honour at the opening ceremony, and Brigadier-General Virginia Tattersall, Deputy Commander, Military Personnel Generation, will be in attendance for the closing ceremony on June 1.

Date and time: Tuesday, May 30, at 8:30 a.m.

Location: Royal Military College Saint-Jean, 15 Jacques-Cartier Street North, Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Quebec J3B 8R8

Members of the media are asked to confirm their attendance by 3 p.m., Monday, May 29, by contacting Lieutenant (Navy) Serge Tsoto, Public Affairs Officer, RMC Saint-Jean, at 450-358-6777, extension 5736 or at Serge.Tsoto@forces.gc.ca.

On the day of the event, media should report to the main entrance of RMC Saint-Jean no later than 8 a.m., with valid photo ID.

RMC Saint-Jean Commandant, Colonel Simon Bernard, and Academic Director, Lieutenant-General (retd) Michel Maisonneuve will be in attendance for interviews after the ceremony.
