New Commander for Canadian Forces Health Services

July 3, 2017 – Ottawa – National Defence / Canadian Armed Forces

Media are invited to attend a ceremony at Le Régiment de Hull in Gatineau as Brigadier-General Andrew Downes assumes Command of Canadian Forces Health Services (CFHS) from Brigadier-General Colin MacKay. Lieutenant-General Charles Lamarre, Commander of Military Personnel Command will preside over the ceremony.

CFHS provides health services across Canada and overseas to Canadian military personnel, and to any other populations as directed by the Minister of National Defence.

What: CFHS Change of Command Ceremony

When: 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, July 5, 2017

Where: Salaberry Armoury/Le Régiment de Hull, 188 Alexandre-Taché, Gatineau.

Media are required to arrive no later than 10 a.m. and must present media identification.

Limited parking is available on site for satellite trucks only, which must be parked by 10 a.m.

Brigadier-General MacKay and Brigadier-General Downes will hold a media availability immediately following the ceremony.
