Media day for NATO’s enhanced Forward Presence battlegroup Latvia Certification Exercise

August 11, 2017 – Ottawa – National Defence / Canadian Armed Forces

Media are invited to the Certification Exercise (CERTEX) for NATO’s enhanced Forward Presence (eFP) battlegroup Latvia. A media day will be held on August 25, 2017, at Camp Ādaži, Latvia.

Who: Media will have the opportunity to witness military manoeuvres that form part of a simulated defensive operation in the exercise.Various interview opportunities will exist with Lieutenant-Colonel Wade Rutland, Commander, eFP battlegroup Latvia, as well as other military personnel.

When: The media day will take place on August 25, 2017. Specific details of the itinerary will be communicated with registered journalists.

What: This certification exercise will confirm that the eFP battlegroup Latvia meets NATO’s strategic directives and certifies multinational interoperability and combat effectiveness. CERTEX takes place from August 21 to 27, 2017, at Camp Ādaži, in Latvia.
