RMC hosts Reunion Weekend 2017

News Release

October 2, 2017 – Kingston, Ont. – National Defence / Canadian Armed Forces

Past, present, and new officer cadets were formally united, while participating in traditional activities during Reunion Weekend 2017 at the Royal Military College of Canada (RMC).

The weekend’s events started on Friday when first-year RMC officer cadets successfully completed the challenging obstacle course that demanded determination, leadership, and teamwork. The Badging Parade on Saturday then marked the conclusion of the five-week orientation program, where new officer cadets officially entered the Cadet Wing after receiving their cap badge from members of the “Old Brigade” – a group of former cadets who entered the College at least 50 years ago.

This was followed by two new plaques being added to the Wall of Honour celebrating the lifelong contributions of Honorary Colonel A. Britton Smith and the late Honorary Colonel Leonard Gordon Patrick Lee. Their plaques joined those of 27 previous honourees on the Wall of Honour, which recognizes former cadets and associates of RMC who have made significant contributions to Canada.

The events of Reunion Weekend 2017 culminated on Sunday with a memorial ceremony, where former cadets and graduates of RMC gathered in remembrance of members of the College community who lost their lives in active service.
