Former Chief Justice of Canada becomes Honorary Captain (Navy) of the Office of the Judge Advocate General

Former Chief Justice of Canada, the Right Honourable Beverley McLachlin, P.C., will formally assume the appointment of Honorary Captain (Navy) of the Office of the Judge Advocate General in a ceremony tomorrow at HMCS Carleton Naval Reserve Division in Ottawa.

Canadian Armed Forces honorary appointments serve as advocates for their units and represent a vital link between communities, stakeholders and the Canadian Armed Forces.

Media are invited to cover tomorrow’s ceremony.

When: 10:45 a.m. Eastern time, Wednesday, June 20, 2018

Where: HMCS Carleton Naval Reserve Division, 79 Prince of Wales Drive, Ottawa
