HMCS Ville de Québec deploys with new Cyclone helicopter

July 17, 2018 – Halifax, N.S. – Department of National Defence / Royal Canadian Navy
Media are invited to attend the departure ceremony for Her Majesty’s Canadian Ship (HMCS) Ville de Québec as the ship deploys to the Mediterranean Sea for Operation REASSURANCE – Canada’s ongoing commitment to international security and cooperation as part of NATO assurance and deterrence measures in Central and Eastern Europe.
The departure ceremony marks both the Ville de Québec’s first deployment on Op REASSURANCE, and the first operational deployment for the CH-148 Cyclone helicopter, an important milestone for the Royal Canadian Air Force.

- Where:
- NB Jetty, Her Majesty’s Canadian Dockyard Halifax.
There will be an opportunity to interview Commander Scott Robinson, Commanding Officer of HMCS Ville de Québec.
Defence Minister Harjit Sajjan will hold a media availability following the departure ceremony.
