Fly the (Invictus Games) Flag Day

August 17, 2018 has been designated as Fly the Flag Day, during which all countries participating in Invictus Games Sydney 2018 will fly oversized Invictus Games flags at iconic, national sites.

Media are invited to witness Canada’s Invictus Games flag being raised during the Changing of the Guard ceremony on Parliament Hill.

There will be opportunities to interview members of Team Canada Invictus Games Sydney 2018. The Honourable Karen McCrimmon, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Transport, and Member of Parliament for Kanata-Carletonwill be in attendance representing the Government of Canada in support of Team Canada at this year’s Invictus Games, being held October 20-27 in Sydney, Australia. 40 Team Canada athletes will join 550 ill, injured, and wounded servicemen and women from 18 nations to compete in 11 adaptive sports.

When: Friday, August 17 at 9:50 a.m.
Where: Parliament Hill
In case of rain the event will be moved to the House of Commons Foyer.
