RCAF to conduct flybys for Canada Day

The Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) will conduct flybys for several Canada Day celebrations across the nation on July 1, 2019. These will be carried out by aircraft from RCAF Wings throughout Canada, and will be done at various times throughout the day.
Flybys will take place in the following communities:
- Alberta – Athabasca (CT-155 Hawk), Cold Lake (CF-188 Hornet and CH-146 Griffon), CFB Edmonton (two CH-146 Griffons), Elk Point (CF-188 Hornet), Hinton (CT-155 Hawk), Jasper (CT-155 Hawk), Lloydminster (CF-188 Hornet), Mannville (CF-188 Hornet), Two Hills (CF-188 Hornet), Sherwood Park (two CH-146 Griffons), Spruce Grove (two CH-146 Griffons), Stony Plain (two CH-146 Griffons), Vegreville (two CH-146 Griffons) and Wainwright (CF-188 Hornet);
- British Columbia – Courtenay (CH-149 Cormorant), Qualicum Beach (CC-115 Buffalo), Sechelt (CC-115 Buffalo), Sidney (CH-148 Cyclone) and Vancouver (CH-148 Cyclone);
- Saskatchewan – Balgonie (CT-155 Hawk), Eatonia (CF-188 Hornet), Fort Qu’Appelle (CT-155 Hawk), Moose Jaw (CT-156 Harvard II), Regina (CT-155 Hawk) and Saskatoon (CT-155 Hawk);
- Ontario – Belleville (CH-146 Griffon), Brighton (CC-130J Hercules ), Cornwall (CC-130H Hercules), Cobourg (CC-130H Hercules), Lancaster (CC-130H Hercules), Ottawa (Snowbirds and CF-18 Hornet Demo Jet), and Wellington (CC-130J Hercules);
- Québec – La Pêche (CC-130J Hercules);
- Newfoundland and Labrador – Goose Bay (CH-146 Griffon) and North West River (CH-146 Griffon); and
- Nova Scotia – Clark’s Harbour (CP-140 Aurora) and Westville (CP-140 Aurora).
RCAF flybys, requested by organizers of special events, are carefully planned and closely controlled to ensure public safety at all times. The RCAF is proud to share in national events which allow us to demonstrate the capabilities of our personnel and aircraft to Canadians. Aircraft participation is subject to weather and operational requirements.
