Royal Canadian Navy to Welcome New Commander, New Command Chief Petty Officer

Media are invited to attend a change of command ceremony on Wednesday, June 12th at Her Majesty’s Canadian Dockyard, Halifax. General Jonathan Vance, Chief of the Defence Staff, will preside over the Royal Canadian Navy (RCN) Change of Command ceremony. During the event Vice-Admiral (VAdm) Ron Lloyd will turn over command of the RCN to Vice-Admiral Art McDonald.

During the ceremony, Vice-Admiral Lloyd will also preside over the change of appointment in which Chief Petty Officer First Class David Steeves will assume the role of Command Chief of the Royal Canadian Navy from Chief Petty Officer First Class Michel Vigneault.

Who: VAdm Ron Lloyd, Outgoing Commander, Royal Canadian Navy; and VAdm Art McDonald, Incoming Commander, Royal Canadian Navy.

When: 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, June 12, 2019.  

What: The change of command of the Royal Canadian Navy from VAdm Ron Lloyd to VAdm Art McDonald.

Where: NB Jetty, HMC Dockyard Halifax.
