Interview Opportunities, Standing NATO Maritime Group Two

Media are invited to participate in one-on-one telephone interviews with the Commander of Standing NATO Maritime Group Two (SNMG2), Commodore Josée Kurtz on Canada’s leadership of SNMG2.
SNMG2 recently completed a patrol in the Black Sea that included participation in two major regional maritime engagements with NATO partners and allies. Following their departure from the Black Sea, SNMG2 proceeded to Rota, Spain, where Her Majesty’s Canadian Ship (HMCS) Halifax took over as Flagship from HMCS Toronto.
HMCS Halifax’s deployment is part of Operation REASSURANCE, and Canada’s contribution to NATO regional maritime security operations and assurance measures in the Mediterranean region and the Black Sea. Commodore Kurtz will be available to discuss these events as well as her role as Commander.
SNMG2 is one of four multinational, high readiness maritime forces that provide NATO with maritime situational awareness, presence, and an operational response capacity both in peacetime and in crisis.
